Sarah’s Fund Spring Celebration
Sevier County seniors enjoyed a fun outing on their monthly Sarah’s Fund Day.
The Dolly Parton My People Senior Activity Center recently held its March Sarah’s Fund Day, making it possible for Sevier County seniors to spend time together in a caring community environment. This month, twenty ladies enjoyed a wonderful lunch outing, followed by an afternoon craft project at the activity center.
Food and Fun.
The ladies who participated in this month’s fun-filled day boarded the bus and headed to a local restaurant, Don Marcos Kitchen, that features Italian and American cuisine. After a delicious mid-day meal, they returned to the activity center to create a cute Easter craft. Smiles abounded as they filled pink and gray socks with rice and beans to make sock bunnies.
Coming together for Sarah’s Fund Day is a highlight for these ladies, giving them the opportunity to meet new people and enjoy time with friends each month. These special days bring so much joy to the lives of seniors who may not otherwise have an opportunity for extracurricular activities. SD Pros counts it a privilege to be able to pour into the community in this way.
